| 説明 | This is the site of the former AMC (Air Mail Center). The building was occupied on June 1, 1978 and was closed on March 27, 2009. I'm not sure the exact date it was demolished, however it was some time between January 8 and April 21, 2012. Prior to its closure, this facility was open to the public 24/7. About the time this closed (as a mitigation measure), the nearby Riverton Post Office had a last collection of midnight and the post office was open until 1am. Sometime in 2009 or 2010, the last collection got moved up to 8pm with the window open until midnight. Then on February 28, 2011 the last collection got cut from 8pm to 6pm with the window closing at 6pm.Now the latest collection (at the time of this writing) is outside the Tacoma P&DC (Processing and Distribution Center) AKA Evergreen Station (a block from the Tacoma Mall). The last pickup times are 8:30pm Mon-Fri and 8:00pm Sat. Be wary of the APC and lobby drops whose last collections are 6:30pm Mon-Fri and 3:00pm Saturday. |
