説明 | Nacho loads raw material onto the VF-1 mill at Neil's Machining.I've been messing around at the machine shop trying to light the inside of the CNC machines. This was my first try and I ghetto blasted it with 4 speedlights. It's really dark in this shop at night, so what you see is just the light from the strobes (almost no ambient).Strobist info:LP160 @ 1/4 power through white pop-up reflector on the opposite side of the machine for the soft back light.LP160 @ full power through gary fong power snoot with grid, next to his right arm, pointing straight into the machine (this light hits the back of the machine and bounces to fill the entire chamber with light). You can actually see some of the light from this strobe on his right arm, although I didn't mean for that to happen.LP160 @ 1/4 power with 1/4 CTO into white reflective umbrella, about 2 feet above his head and 2 feet to his right side (this is mainly to light the right side of his head).LP160 @ full power lighting the wall in the background.Triggered with one set of pocket wizards (the other 3 strobes on optical slave mode).I'm going to go back to the shop again this week. Maybe I'll try this shot again with the 4th strobe opposite the camera aimed at his back instead of lighting the wall. Then maybe the wall will be dark and there will be sort of a highlight on the top of his shoulders and head. Also, maybe we need to clean out the machine next time because it looks kind of ghetto O.oLet me know if you have any suggestions for me to make the light better... I only have 4 speedlights... |
