| 説明 | Army Chaplains' Department (attached Gordon Highlanders)The Reverend De Vine, a graduate of Jesus College, Cambridge, was ordained in 1913. He served as curate of St Philip's, Birmingham until the outbreak of war in 1914. De Vine was posted to the Western Front with the Gordon Highlanders in May 1915. He was killed by an exploding shell on 27 April 1916, aged 36, and is buried at Vermelles British Cemetery.Faces of the First World WarThe full story is not always known to us.
