| 説明 | I bought a B+W 77m KSM C-POL MRC polarizer a few years ago. I was so disappointed at the veiling flare that I swore off polarizers for a few years. Recently, I regained interest in using polarizers for sky darkening, so I went in search of a better polarizer. I initially suspected that a linear polarizer might work better, so I bought myself a B+W KSM linear polarizer. Despite the price, it was not coated at all, and the flaring was even worse. I then tried the B+W TOP-POL MRC and Nikon circular polarizer II.It was like night and day. The new ones did flare, but it was much less.I suspect that the original filter did not have coated internal surfaces since the extent of the flaring was about half way between the better ones and the completely uncoated polarizer. I happen to have another polarizer of the same type but of smaller diameter in my collection. In tests, it had lower flaring than all my other polarizers.Besides the problem that I found with my original polarizer, I also found the following:*The linear polarizers had the worst polarization, and KSM made little difference. The differences were just large enough to be visible to the naked eye. The images looked very polarized but lacked a touch of the absoluteness offered by the circular polarizers.*The Nikon did not polarize as well as the B+W circular polarizers, but the difference was insignificant.*The flaring results were mixed. The Nikon was better in some while the good B+W specimens were better in the others. The Nikon flaring tended to be green while the B+W flaring tended to be a touch blue or purple. Only time will tell which is less bad. The Nikon flaring was much more green than the B+W flaring was purple. The increased coloration magnified the visibility of the Nikon flaring significantly beyond what might have been expected from the intensity.Sunnyvale, CA |
