Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facadeand concealed roof, with cast-iron balcony.EXTERIOR: 4 storeys, 4 first-floor windows, angle to left has1 first-floor window and is curved on plan. First floorthrough second floor: to left a pair of fluted Ionicpilasters, similar single pilaster to right, to centre a pairof Tuscan fluted pilasters. Frieze, cornice. Above these tothird floor are pilaster strips, those to ends have inciseddecoration, plain to centre.First floor: 10-pane French windows with overlights each inmoulded surround with frieze and cornice.Second and third floors: 8/8 sashes with moulded surrounds,sills to second floor. Similar fenestration to angle, windowscurved on plan and with blind box to first floor.Ground floor: horizontal rustication. 2 rectangular bays eachwith 4 Ionic columns and three 8/8 sashes between 2/2 sashes,moulded sills, frieze and cornice.Entrance: double doors to angle in rusticated arch withkeystone, 2-columnar porch with frieze and cornice. Balconiesabove porch and to each bay have stick and circle balustrades.Left return: 4 storeys, 4 first-floor windows. First floorthrough second floor: pairs of tall fluted Ionic pilasters toends. Frieze and cornice. Third floor: pilasters with inciseddecoration above pilasters. Cornice, blocking course withplain pilasters to ends, coping. First floor: tall 12/12sashes in tooled surrounds with frieze and cornice. Secondfloor: 8/8 sashes in tooled surrounds and with sills. Thirdfloor: smaller 8/8 sashes in tooled surrounds. Ground floorhas horizontal rustication. Entrance to left a board door.Four 12/12 sashes with sills. All windows in plain reveals.INTERIOR: rear openwell staircase has stick balusters andwreathed handrail.HISTORICAL NOTE: the Parade was so-named in 1860. Originallycalled Lillington Lane, it was renamed Union Row c1809. Thelower section was laid out c1808-1814 and extended towardsDormer Place c1835.
