| 説明 | Black and white film developed and printed on Ilford fiber based matte paper in an analog darkroom, sepia toned and then hand-colored with layers of oils. This shot is of two friends at Penland School of Crafts wearing translucent masks with huge eyebrows. The masks take away the person’s identity and merge them into a clone. I so often feel that our culture in this country tries to mold us all to be the same. Walk into a store you see rack after rack of the same clothes. In schools students are expected to perform . . . enough preaching. The title is Conformity and I have always be the “odd one” “weird” “different” or as I have told hundreds of my students over the past 34 years Ms. Thomas prefers the word “unique” . . . embrace your uniqueness! |
