| 説明 | A bottle of Hibernation Ale from Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado.Hibernation Ale is an English-Style Old Ale that varies a bit in strength from year to year, the 2008 vintage was 8.1% abv while this, 2009 vintage, held more punch at 8.7% abv.The beer poured a clear, golden reddish brown color with a small, bubbly beige head. It sported a wort-like sweet malt aroma, a bit like a well-aged bock, with hints of ripe fruits. It had a medium heavy mouthfeel with a soft, oily texture. The flavor started out sweet, with caramel and syrup, before an ashy character appeared. The hoppy bitterness gave the beer a long aftertaste with lingering ash notes. Very nice.To be a year past its best before date, Hibernation Ale 2009 still packs a lot of flavor, behaving like an Old Ale should. A really well made vintage from Great Divide. |
