説明Company E, 151st Ohio InfantryHis obituary possed as many questions as it answered but it did give me an important location. "Frankfort, Marshall County, Kansas" That is where his brother Samuel and Leonard are buried. The Westmoreland Recorder, Thursday, August 10, 1916, Pg. 1Volume XXXIIOBITUARY OF A. J. MCKEE______An Early Settler, Local Methodist Preacher,Probate Judge One Term, Always aWell Respected Citizen.______ A.J. McKee was born at New Cumberland, Tuscarawas county, Ohio, November 8, 1829 and died at the family home in Westmoreland, Saturday afternoon, July 29. At the age of nine he moved with his parents to Lima, Allen county, Ohio, where he received his common school education and later entered the college at Lima, which fitted him for his profession as a school teacher during his young manhood. When but a young boy he was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church, of which he continued a member until the time of his death. Yielding to a strong conviction of call to preach he accepted a license as a local preacher and found field for the activities of his life while in health. In 1855 he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Protsman of Lima, Ohio. This devoted companion made herself a part of all the best things in the family and was taken by death April 5, 1915. Ten children were born to them, all of whom are living but two, a son, William, and a daughter Ora. After his marriage he engaged in farming and sheep raising in Allen county, Ohio until the year 1870 when imbued with the pioneer spirit he moved to Frankfort, Marshall county, Kansas, and soon became a factor in church and public life. He owned Frankfort properties, valuable farms and was one of the model farmers of Marshall county, conducting everything in a very systematic way. After retiring from the farm he engaged in the mercantile and grain business in Frankfort. Mr. McKee moved with his family to Westmoreland, and again engaged in the mercantile business a few years and then retired from business spending the remainder of his activities looking after his farm 6 miles west of Westmoreland. He served one term, as a probate judge in Pottawatomie county. Mr. McKee entered the army Company E, 15 Regiment Ohio volunteers. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and were conducted by the Rev. W. R. Ward of the M. E. church and interment was made in the city cemetery. The burial services were in charge of the Masonic lodge.
