It was before that Agricultural Hall.It is a Grade II listed building.Anglia House - Norwich - Heritage GatewayFormer Agricultural Hall, now television studios and offices, 1882 by J.B. Pearse.Red brick with stucco detail. Two storeys plus semi-basement. 9 bays, centre 3projecting. Central door with 5 steps up blocked by C20 glazing. Recessed casementwindows at ground floor. All ground floor openings have rusticated semi-circulararches with key-stones in the shape of a man's head: fleur-de-lys above doorway.Casement windows at first floor with raised and moulded surround with flat hood andaprons: segmental arches above 3 central windows. Circular windows above first floorwindows with scrolled surrounds. 4 fluted pilasters flanking the central bays andsupporting pediment with ornate swags and Norwich arms and paired end pilasters.Dentil stringcourse between floors. Balustraded parapet. |
