| 説明 | South Indian Hindu folklore states a story where Shiva and Parvati decide to settle an argument between Ganesha and Muruga by chalenging them to a race thrice around the world. Muruga flies away on his vahana(vehicle) while Ganesha walks around his parents thrice, and proclaims that they are his world. Impressed by Ganeshas wisdom Shiva and Parvati proclaim Ganesha as the winner, infuriating Muruga who flies away to stay atop the Palani hill. The modern day Palani is a temple town in Tamil Nadu. Also it is one of the Arupadaiveedu, 6 famous temples dedicated to lord Muruga. |
