| 説明 | Mrs. Provie Mason, a 74-year-old resident of San Diego, California, crocheted this American flag with fourty-eight stars (Alaska and Hawaii had not yet entered the Union) in an offset pattern. She presented it to Roosevelt as a gift during World War II. A longtime Republican, Mason changed her party registration to Democrat in 1942, around the time she created this flag. |
