So I decided to register and upload a selection of some of what I think are my best pictures. You can take a look at them here.I like how they seem to care more about pictures than Flickr does. To me Flickr seems to be worried about bandwith. I uploaded my first picture in 2006, and 5 years later display sizes haven't changed significantly (500 to 640 pixels wide in 2010).Why are miniatures so small? Miniatures are bigger on eBay!Why is the standard size (what you're looking at up here) so small? The whole page fills less than half my monitor! Come on!Then there's the stupid Explore system: a spam driven algorithm, wow... The more spam you get, the better your pictures are.Flickr just keeps getting filled up with spammers and their stupid awards and all that shit.I can't stand seeing animated GIFs in the comments... WTF?? I'm trying to look at a picture, I don't need no flashing shit around it.I added a guy as a contact the other day, and I had to remove him because he kept changing the date of his pictures so they appear first on his friend's stream. He had pictures with more comments than views!! And, of course, a million explored pictures.Sometimes I wonder why I keep paying for this obsolete service... |
