| 説明 | This is the main square in Arles - Place de la Republique.Taken from Plan de la Cour outside the Hotel de Ville.This is the Hotel de Ville in Arles.The Town Hall (1673-1676) by the architect Mansard. It is surmounted by the clock tower which is one century older. At the top of the belfry is a bronze statue representing the god Mars. The town hall chamber ceiling is a particually remarkable structure being very flat and supported by 20 columns. It attracted craftsmen from the whole of France who came to study it.From a tourist book I got about Arles while I was there.The Plane de la Cour side of the Hotel de Ville. |
