| 説明 | Steady rain couldn't stop more than 300 anti-hunger advocates from descending upon our State Capitol this Tuesday, May 17, for Hunger Action Day, California's largest annual anti-hunger rally and advocacy event. More than 50 Alameda County Community Food Bank clients, volunteers, agency partners and staff -- joined by hundreds of anti-hunger advocates from across the state -- met with legislators in Sacramento to urge them to increase access to CalFresh, California's food stamp program, and to commit to passing a state budget without making any more cuts to vital health and human services. During each meeting our volunteer advocates shared with lawmakers the stories of their own hunger struggles, painting a clear picture of how decisions in Sacramento impact everyday Californians. |
