| 説明 | St. John's Beacon was built in 1965 as a ventilation shaft for St. John's Market. The top of the 133m (450ft) tower was a revolving restaurant and viewing platform. The revolving restaurant is no longer a restaurant and doesn't revolve.Closed in 1977 after a fire in the St John's centre, the viewing plaform reopened only to close again in the 1980s. In July 2000 it became home to Radio City. The top of the Beacon has mobile phone and DAB radio transmitters, often (but not here) covered with advertising. Advertising is sometimes projected on to the side of the tower itself. |
