| 説明 | This is an image of a broken railway track, representing damaged telomeres, which are the ends of linear chromosomes. The image was constructed from 14,700 unique QFA yeast culture images, algorithmically selected from the 1,313,280 culture images captured and quantified for the yku70Δ QFA screen by Addinall et al. 2011. Addinall et al. carried out three types of QFA screens (yku70Δ, cdc13-1 and ura3Δ), capturing and quantifying 5,372,928 images of yeast cultures in total. All of the cultures shown in this image have defective telomeres, and the range of culture densities which is apparent comes from capturing images at different times after inoculation, for several repeated cultures of 4,294 different yeast genotypes, growing with several different degrees of telomere disruption.
