With spring, the slow, tired cycle of winter is broken and a shaft of light breaks into our daily routine. We see all around us in nature the beauty of new starts and new life. Spring, to many, represents a time of hope and renewal. But there are countless people around the world who do not have the same hope in bright futures. Watching Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day highlighted to us not only the great needs of the world but also a sense of the disconnection in many minds between life-destroying poverty and direct ways of affecting change. Red Nose Day will come around again next year – but every single day of every single year, there are numerous ways that you can make a difference, many of them small and simple.
