And how the bulk of the C-Pillar is concealed by a black plastic insert, just as cheesy as it ever has been on such luminaries as the Cruze and Mazda 6? For one, the pillar would still look interestingly beefy without the black plastic insert, though perhaps not as willowy as the designers intended. For another, that rear kickup does nothing but hamper visibility in the needless quest for style. Delete the kickup and black plastic and you have something as athletic as the prior-generation Acura TL, especially given the almost-fastback aggressive rake in the back light. Instead you have something that compromises vision and headroom needlessly, like one of those four-door coupes no one actually needs. |
