| 説明 | Beerstone reredos between commandment boards , placed along with the stone chancel screen which was financed in 1821 by Sir Henry Carew and designed by John Kendall, acting architect to Exeter Cathedral at that time. Behind in the east window are fragments of continental (perhaps Flemish) stained glass www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/R2Vv7D9664The church was built c1233 by Sir Stephen de Haccombe on his return from the 5th Crusade, which he dedicated to St Blaise, a 4c Armenian Bishop and Martyr whose fame he had encountered in the East. It was later consecrated by Bishop Grandisson of Exeter on July 19th 1328, probably after some restoration or rebuilding by the founder's grandson another Sir Stephen who died in the same year www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/93656B6nDB - Church of St Blaise, Haccombe DevonJohn Salmon CCL commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:St_Blaise,_Haccombe,_Devo... |
