| 説明 | Built in 2013, this Contemporary structure was designed by Studio Gang to serve as a boathouse for Richard Clark Park, providing facilities for rowing clubs on the North Branch of the Chicago River. The building is clad in slate shingles and flat-seam metal panels with a sawtooth butterfly-shed roof that gives the building a sense of movement reminiscent of the movement of oars being used by rowers, multiple garage bays facing the river, a large plaza between the two sections of the building, and multiple clerestory windows. The building is characteristic of the small-scale commissions of Studio Gang, which often has a focus on serving the communities in which they are located. |
