| 説明 | This is Brisbane International Airport at about 9 or 10 in the morning. The queue on the right is lining up to go down the departures escalator through the yellow portal. The rest of the people are in a winding line going way back, nearly to the other side of the terminal. The crazy thing is, this was the queue to join the queue to join the actual queue. Yes, that's right, after going down the escalator, you joined a queue wrapped around the walls of that area. But that was only a holding area until you were allowed to joined the actual queue for security. That queue snaked back and to four or five times in narrow lanes, with people almost rubbing shoulders with the folks heading the other way. After what seemed like an age in these queues, I got to the front and asked the official if there was some kind of problem today and he told me that, no, this is just the new normal for mornings. Going back to the photo, the two staff members at the left of the photo are part of a group who were canvassing the line, looking for people whose flights were departing soon and would otherwise have no chance of making them. |
