Mid October 2023. IMG_9736The horsetails - Equisetums - are the sole surviving members of a very old branch of the plant family. There are about 20 species in the Equisetum genus, which is the only living genus of the Equisetaceae family. Equisetaceae, in turn, is the only surviving family of the Equisetales order. So this is a plant that would have a small family reunion - not many cousins. |
