| 説明 | UO Student Workers went on strike starting Monday, April 28, 2025. Here are photos from Day 1 of the picketing, which began at 5 a.m. and lasted until 11 at night.Most of it took place outside Johnson Hall before marching over to Unthank Hall at 5 p.m.The union successfully persuaded Teamsters-affiliated delivery drivers and union construction workers to respect the picket line by not delivering packages or participating in construction activities.The entire university, from dining halls to the Rec center to the EMU, was forced to make cuts to hours and close some outlets and facilities. Skeleton crews which consisted of SEIU-affiliated classified staff (who are governed by a separate contract), management, and a few student workers who crossed the picket line were not able to keep up with the high demand. |
