| 説明 | A male Andrena nitida, sometimes called the Grey-patched Mining Bee. I found it sat in the middle of a footpath in the sun one morning, and worried that it would be stepped on, picked it up to move it to safety. It's a male because of the 13 antennae segments. Features to look out for in telling which Andrena male it is include the dark hairs along the eye rim beside the mass of pale ones - clearly seen in the third photo. Scale cm and mm. On a chalk hilltop beside a hedgerow, Whiteshute Ridge, Winchester, Hampshire, UKOS Grid Ref: SU 470 278 |
