| 説明 | The Sihlsee east of Einsiedeln is a reservoir that was flooded in 1937. But you can only see it if you go over a hill. The associated power plant belongs to the SBB and produces traction current. Pump turbines can be used to pump water from Lake Zurich into this lake when needed. Nevertheless, electricity production causes the water level to fall seasonally. And the newspapers keep writing that the Sihlsee has dried up. However, this only affects the upper, 2 km long part south of the Steinbach viaduct. That's where I took these photos. A private bath, south of the Steinbach viaduct. Switzerland, April 16, 2025.
