| 説明 | Built in 1917, this Arts and Crafts-style building was designed by Marcus R. Burrowes to serve as a boathouse on Kingswood Lake for the adjacent Cranbrook House, and replaced an earlier wood-frame boathouse. The building is built of concrete with a rooftop terrace featuring a geometric railing, a second-story penthouse with a hipped roof, a concrete terrace on the east side of the building, and a large segmented overhead door that secures the building’s interior. The building is a contributing structure in the Cranbrook Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989. |
