| 説明 | Built in 1904, this Italianate-style building is often mislabeled as being built in 1883, when Bisbee was a small mining camp with a haphazard collection of wooden and adobe structures. The 1901 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map show an adobe building on the same site, labeled as the Mansion Hotel, which stood among other adobe and wood-frame structures, all of which have been demolished. Additionally, historical images that display the nearby YMCA under construction show the adjacent building already standing, while this building’s site was occupied by the earlier adobe structure, the Mansion Hotel, which featured front-gable roof, a three-bay facade, and false front with a gable parapet, which was likely actually built in 1883, and replaced with this building in 1904. Other historical sources mislabel this building as being built in 1902, when the adjacent building is already standing in photographs, with this building being absent, and the Mansion Hotel still standing. The building features a buff brick exterior, two oriel windows, a cornice with modillions and brackets, one-over-one double-hung windows, brick corbeling, and cast iron piers flanking a large first floor bay. The building is a contributing structure in the Bisbee Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Today, the building houses the Letson Loft Hotel and La Dulce Vida. |
