| 説明 | Built in 1923, this Mission Revival-style building was designed by Peter Kiewit for the Arizona Eastern Railroad Company to serve as a Union Station for the city of Phoenix. The building served as a passenger station until 1995, when a new Amtrak station opened elsewhere. The building is clad in stucco with a red terra cotta tile side-gable roof, gable parapets, arched bays on the ground floor, north and south porticoes with Spanish gable parapets and arched openings, one-over-one double-hung windows, bracketed eaves, and one-story wings flanking the central two-story wing to the east and west. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Today, the building serves as a special events venue. |
