| 説明 | Symphyotrichum foliaceum at subalpine elevations in the cirque at the base of Mount Blackmore and Elephant Mountain, Hyalite Canyon area, Gallatin Range, Gallatin County, Montana. A rhizomatous growth habit, stems averaging 20-25 cm tall, stem leaves conspicuously clasping, involucral bracts loose and leaf-like, the outer bracts of which are green to purplish, and lavender ray petals contrasting with yellow disk corollas combine to distinguish Symphyotrichum foliaceum var. apricum. This subalpine population has taller more erect stems compared to nearby populations at alpine elevations that have a shorter stature resulting in part from decumbent stems. |
