| 説明 | Built in 1876-1882, this Gothic Revival-style building was designed by William Appleton Potter and James G. Hill to serve as a United States Post Office, Customs House, and Court House for the city of Nashville, and was expanded in 1903 and 1916 to accommodate the growing needs of the federal offices, postal services, and court rooms within. The building is clad in rough-hewn stone with a hipped roof, gothic arched bays, entrance portals with marble corinthian columns, a tower over the main entrance with clock faces and a pyramidal hipped roof, gable parapets, two-over-two double-hung windows, decorative trim, and additions to the south, east, and west of the original structure. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Today, the building houses the Bankruptcy Court for Middle Tennessee. |
