| 説明 | Prserved Steam Tug TID 164, 54 GRT, at Gillingham Pier, 1 March 2025. Ordered by the Ministry of War Transport for the Royal Navy and built by Pickersgill, Sunderland. Completed in 1945, she served in RN Dockyards at Port Edgar and Rosyth until 1974 when sold to International Towing and renamed Hercules. In 1978 she entered preservation. She sank at her moorings in 2009 but was raised and renovated.182 TID standard steam tugs of a simple, pre-fabricated design (either coal or oil fired - TID 164 is oil fired) were mass produced in 1942-46 for RN or commercial use. TID 164 is one of five remaining TID's, only three of which retain their original engine and most fittings like TID 164. |
