| 説明 | 235 St Vincent Street, Port AdelaideThese three buildings were completed in 1872 to the design of architect William Beattie. The foundations were made of concrete with redgum sleepers on top and the basement walls two feet (60cm) thick for strength. No 235 was built for Captain John Bickers, manager of the B.B. (Bickers Brothers) line of ships, trading throughout the world. Tenants have included J. Gadsden, Calico and Hessian Bag Manufacturers; Gibbs – Parkinson Shoe Co.; Misses Clarke and Parkes - Cafe Australia; James H. Turnbull printing business; Kilpatrick’s Allied Wood Merchants and Lloyd Wiggins & Co Ltd, Auctioneers, Valuers and Licensed Agents. |
