| 説明 | The information on site.Small power plant Willy Sand. Water is life: The current water wheel was built by the canton of Graubünden and put into operation at the beginning of 2018. It is powered by the Untertorer Mühlbach. The Willy company operated mechanical engineering on this site from 1859 to 1962 and was a user of the old small power plant. The former steel water wheel drove the factory's machines, and from 1910 also a generator to meet electricity needs. The almost 100-year-old water wheel with a diameter of 3.2 m generated about 25,000 kWh of electricity annually. The new water wheel, also made of raw steel, has a diameter of 4.5 m. 24 blades use 1.2 m3 of water per second and produce about 48,000 kWh of electricity annually; this corresponds to the energy consumption of 12 households.
