| 説明 | Built in 1957-1958, this Modern New Formalist-style building was designed by Minoru Yamasaki of Yamasaki, Leinweber and Associates for the College for Creative Studies to serve as their main building, replacing their original main building elsewhere in Midtown Detroit. The building is clad in glass curtain walls with extruded aluminum mullions, with a central gabled atrium featuring a glass roof, and is enclosed on all sides by a red flemish bond brick screen wall, which originally provided privacy for the college from the adjacent public street, which has since been closed off as the campus has expanded to the south, east, and west. |
