| 説明 | Built in 1929, this Art Deco-style skyscraper was designed by Donaldson and Meier for the Stott Realty Company, and was named for David E. Stott (1853-1916), whom founded the company and made his fortune with the David Stott Flour Mills. The 38-story 437-foot (133 meter) tall building features a marble base with red brick cladding above, terra cotta trim, one-over-one windows with recessed spandrels, setbacks towards the top of the building, decorative pinnacles at the top of the building, an arched entrance bay on the Griswold Street facade, and several storefronts at the ground level retail spaces. The building is a contributing structure in the Capitol Park Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, and the building has been rehabilitated for adaptive reuse as an apartment building, now known as The Stott. |
