| 説明 | Built in 1927-1929, this Gothic Revival-style building was designed by George F. Schreiber to serve as the Scottish Rite Cathedral for the freemasons of the city of Indianapolis. The building is clad in Indiana Limestone, and features gothic arched bays with decorative tracery, casement windows, buttresses, decorative parapets, a gothic arched main entrance bay with a transom featuring decorative tracery at the base of the building’s tower, large gothic arched windows at the central bays of the north and south facades, octagonal corner towers, and decorative reliefs and niches on the exterior. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and today remains in use as a masonic temple. |
