| 説明 | Built in 1888 and expanded with additions in 1898 and 1911, this Shingle and Tudor Revival-style building was designed by John Wellborn Root of Burnham and Root for the Lake View Presbyterian Church congregation, which formed to serve the growing then-suburb of Lakeview north of the city of Chicago. The building is clad in wooden shingles with a gabled roof, an octagonal corner tower with a conical roof, stained glass windows, a front entrance porch at the base of the corner tower, and a rear parish hall addition with a brick and half-timbered stucco-clad exterior. Inside, the building features a sanctuary with a vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden roof trusses and brackets, and decorative woodwork. The building today remains home to the Lake View Presbyterian Church congregation. |
