説明 | I very much like Metropolis as a film for urban subjects (it is well-named), but have not seen it as a good fit for natural ones. This is an example of trying it on a natural subject (a muscadine grape). The results, I think, are interesting. The film's tonal and color rendering provide a certain level of abstraction, but less so than one would have with monochrome; it is also good at highlighting certain types of structural detail and downplaying others, which often works well in an architectural context (especially with old buildings). These features are potentially useful for trying to depict natural subjects in a new way, particularly when combined with the distinctive perspective of a short macro lens. I'm not sure that I've cracked the code on this one, but the material seems to have potential, and I would encourage others to explore it.Shot with a Pentax MXSMC Pentax-M 50mm f/4 Macro lensLomochrome Metropolis filmISO 125, developed normallyDeveloped and scanned by The Darkroom |
