| 説明 | As we head back to Srinagar, after an interesting day in Sonmarg, Kashmir, India, we made several photo stops on the way to take in the fabulous Alpine scenery. This is a far view of Thajiwas Glacier with a frozen glacial stream flowing down from it. Now how fascinating is that! Had we taken a pony ride in Sonmarg, we could have gone slightly closer to that glacier but thank goodness for the zoom function on the iPhone! Thajiwas glacier lies at an altitude of 9,186 ft and offers a stunning view against emerald meadows and a clear blue sky during summer. (it was not summer at the time of my visit- it was in fact cloudy and drizzling heavily even in spring- the time of my visit). During the summer months, one can take a half-day hike to numerous waterfalls around this glacier.
