| 説明 | As we head back to Srinagar, after an interesting day in Sonmarg, Kashmir, India, we made several photo stops on the way to take in the fabulous Alpine scenery. This is a far shot of a glacial stream stopped just short of the Sind (or Sindh) river which it feeds. We have driven forward a little bit due to which the frozen glacial stream has been obscured partially by the little mound of earth in the foreground. The Sind (Sindh) river in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir, India, is a major tributary of the Jhelum River and is 108 km in length. The source of this river lies in the Machoi Glacier at an elevation of 4,800 mtr east of the Amarnath cave temple and south of the Zoji La. Don't you love this frozen glacial stream stopped just short of the Sind river! Notes about Sonmarg and the Sind (Sindh) river which flows through it appear elsewhere in this album.
