| 説明 | Outside the Waste Expo in Jeff’s Shed we provided a community response to the proposed Ring of Waste Incinerators around Melbourne. This is Jane Bremmer From Toxics Free Australia speaking.These incinerators have high carbon emissions and pollution of toxic chemicals. The toxic fly-ash needs to be buried in a hazardous waste landfill.The experience from Europe is they contaminate agriculture, backyard veggies and chickens which can be consumed by residents. Many European cities are moving to become Zero Waste cities and to@phase out incinerators. Waste Incinerators are part of the fossil fuel cycle and not compatible with circular economy waste management.People from Lara, Sunbury and Wollert campaigns were present.Here is the parliamentary petition on the Melbourne Energy Recovery Centre at Wollert.
