| 説明 | Trying to cheer me up, my friend and guide immediately pounced on this little patch of frost on the slopes of a little hillock in Gulmarg for some interesting pictures. I was having a tough time keeping my balance on that slippery slope, for the grass was pretty slippery as well. I did manage to sit down at the spot- another anchoring point on that slippery slope- my rear end- though I was still dreading the thought of getting up again, without slipping and falling. I did manage to get up on my own, but had to wait for help before I attempt to walk down again, as the grass was pretty slippery as well, made worse by the wet soles of my shoes. I was surprised as to how my friend, who is even older than me, managed to keep his own balance and was also managing to help me stabilize myself. We are in Gulmarg, Kashmir, and it has now been firmly established that we were not going to take a taxi around the sights of Gulmarg, thanks to the extortionate rates, and having taken enough selfies a the same spot near the parking lot, all we could do was to walk around near the parking spot. It was mandatory to take a local taxi and we decided against doing so as they were quoting rates from INR 4,000 to 6,000 for an one hour ride, trying to justify it by saying they can only only four months in a year, the rest of the year, it's snow and they cannot operate. Second, the famous Gulmarg gondola ride was fully booked for the rest of the day. So in short, we had to spend all our time in Gulmarg merely walking around, taking selfies. That is when we spotted this patch of frost on a small hillock behind the car parking lot. (Gulmarg, Kashmir, India, Apr. 2024) |
