| 説明 | Once my friend and host was done with all his selfies in Gulmarg, we finally head to the small market behind the parking lot looking for a place to eat. While I wait for my friend, our guide and driver to decide on the eatery we will go to, Our guideI took this picture of this me against this store selling ladies' garments. Most of the shacks in the cluster of shops here are eateries with just a couple of rentals for warm clothing, like the one in the foreground, and one convenience store in the midst of that cluster. This is a garments store as well in that cluster, which I'd missed when viewing the cluster of shops from a distance. On my 1979 visit, almost all garments stores in Kashmir offered leather jackets. On this visit in 2024, I could not find a single shop selling leather garments. Most garment stores in Kashmir offered stuff like this, or pashmina shawls, or Chinese style padded nylong jackets. Strange. Gulmarg lies in a cup-shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, at an altitude of, 2,650 mtr above sea level. It is located some 56 km from Srinagar.
