説明Notes: Popes Glen is within the eastern end of Popes Glen Creek, Blackheath. A walking track through Popes Glen extends from Dell Street to the junction of Pulpit Rock Track and Govetts Walk. John Pope, a general manager of a large retail firm in Sydney, purchased Portion 62, l0 acres on 30 April 1880 and the adjoining Portion 63, 12 acres on the 28 March 1881. The southern boundary extends along Govetts Leap Road and the northern boundary abuts Popes Glen Creek. This combined parcel of land was transferred to his son Parke William Pope (1868-1955) on the 19 June 1912. Parke Pope's house Karaweera, now known as Parklands, was originally laid out in the grand manner of an English country estate. Ref: Land Titles Vol. 502; Fol. 5 & Vol. 535; Fol. 104.
