| 説明 | France has asserted that it "owns" part of Antarctica, an idea rejected by many countries. This pair of airmail stamps (= Scott Catalogue # C89 and C90, designated "C90a" for the strip of two + label) was issued on 6 August 1985 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the "French Southern & Antarctic Territory" ("TAAF") (it actually literally translates as "French Southern & Antarctic Lands"). The stamps depict old sailing ships, rope, a stylized iceberg, and stylized wildlife. |
