| 説明 | Was crossing over the road in Holloway Circus, when I spotted three Britain's Got Talent lorries - probably heading towards the Alex. This was after I noticed Britain's Got Talent on the Suffolk Street Queensway facade of the Alexandra Theatre.Behind is the Scala Building, Chinese Pagoda and the Beetham Tower.Note: I don't watch Britain's Got Talent or any of those rubbish reality "talent" contests. Never liked them. Ever. Think they should all be cancelled, and never recommissioned. The centre of Holloway Circus was Thomas Gardens. The pagoda was installed in 1998, during the landscaping of Holloway Circus. It replaced Hebe, which is now on James Watt Queensway. The pagoda was carved in Fujian, a province of China. It was donated to the city, and forms a landmark of the nearby Chinese Quarter. It was donated by Wing Yip and Brothers (Holdings) Ltd. to the people and the City of Birmingham. The structure was erected in Thomas Gardens to create a gateway feature into Birmingham's Bull Ring and Markets quarter and was implemented by Birmingham City Council. |
