| 説明 | A marble votive relief dedicated to Antinous. It was discovered in front of the vaulted entrance of the stadium of the ancient city of Philippopolis in Thrace. This attests to the cult of Antinous in the city, and its finding in the stadium proves that soon after his death, athletic games were held there to honour his memory. The inscription on the relief reads:Ἀντίνοον ἥρωα (to Antinous, the hero)edh.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/edh/inschrift/HD043083 |
