| 説明 | Built in 1927, this Pueblo Revival-style building was designed under the purview of superintendent Jesse L. Nusbaum, and built as a Community Center for Mesa Verde National Park. The building’s basement became home to a Comfort Station in 1936, while the upper floor became home to a Natural History Museum in 1940, before becoming home to the Chief Ranger’s Office in 1968. The building is clad in rough-hewn stone with casement windows, porches with stone and wooden columns, vigas, and parapets. The building is a contributing structure in the Mesa Verde Administrative District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987. |
