| 説明 | Full sized Heat Shield of India's PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) on display in the HAL Museum in Bangalore. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) is an expendable medium-lift launch vehicle designed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was developed to allow India to launch its Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites into sun- synchronous orbits, a service that was, until the advent of the PSLV in 1993, only commercially available from Russia. The PSLV can also launch small size satellites into Geostationary Transfer Orbits, (GTO) (a Geostationary Transfer Orbit is a circular orbit 35,785 km) above the Equator in which a satellite's orbital period is equal to Earth's rotation period of 23 hours and 56 minutes. A spacecraft in this orbit appears to an observer on Earth to be stationary in the sky.) (Bangalore/ Bengaluru, India, Jan/ Feb. 2024) |
