| 説明 | Pardon the unshaven look- this is a selfie taken in front of the ATC Radar displayed in the HAL Museum in Bangalore. This is of course a static display and is not functional. This is the antenna system- the ASR-9- of a typical Air Traffic Control radar. The curved reflector antenna on the bottom is the Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR). A flat antenna on top (not displayed here) of it is the Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR). When in operation, the antenna rotates about a vertical axis, sweeping a vertical fan-shaped beam of microwaves around the local airspace to locate and track aircraft.
